Warm Summer - Right between the ribs
I wanted the image itself to create a feeling of warmth - to radiate warmth itself, the flushed, lovely warmth of a summer's day.
The original photo of Alison reminded me of summer, the scorching heat and colours that are so reminiscent of an Australian summer
I also thought it was a lovely image that tells its own story, and I hope I've added to that
Unfortunately the scanner has created much more pronounced 'shading' on the face which now looks a little too defined and is much less pronounced in the original painting

But still, I'm quite proud of this and to me it's the essence of summer - it makes me feel warm looking at it - hair lit up from behind and the flush of the cheeks, the innocence and pleasure and quiet peace found in summer <3
